EDDIE’S WORLD RECORD CHALLENGE
supporting jole rider’s bikes4Africa
Eddie Sedgemore, of Marshfield near Bath, is just about to enter his 70th year. To celebrate, he's doing a bike ride of more than 2012 miles. Eddie aims to raise £15,000 to get more children to school by bike through jole rider’s bikes4Africa programme.
Eddie says I'm passionate about cycling and bikes, and excited because what I love doing most will help children get better access to school in Africa – by bike! And I like the fact that most of the bikes are refurbished by prison inmates. Please help me achieve my fundraising goal. You can donate at my JustGiving page.
About Eddie 2 years ago, Eddie set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance by electric bike. He now aims to break his own record of 1912.1 miles in 28 days. This will be his 6th [and 7th] End to End. He set his first Guinness World record in 2001 - on a Push Scooter!
About Eddie's ride The ride is named LE JOLE 2012 after jole rider’s signature bike ride of 1000 miles, the JOLE1000, from John O’Groats [JO] to Land’s End [LE]
Eddie’s ride starts and ends in Land’s End with a brief stop in John O’Groats, a route of more than 2012 miles
Eddie's epic journey will begin on Sat 12 May 2012. He will ride over 2012 miles in 26 days. His route will take in Dunnet Head and Lizard Point [the furthest points north and south].

Le jole 2011 has sadly been postponed until Sat 12 May 2012 for safety reasons due to ferocious gales which not only affected this event but also others such as the Tour of Britain Cycle Race. We are all looking forward to le jole 2012!
