Young People – Fresh Choices was an M2A project in Wiltshire schools.

The project was funded by the Criminal Justice Service through the Community Cashback scheme.

Young People – Fresh Choices was designed to re-engage students excluded, or at risk of exclusion, from school.
Students received skills training in bicycle maintenance and repair skills in their own schools.
A strong African context emphasised the power participants have to change the lives of other people less fortunate.
Students took part in loading a container with the bikes they fixed up which were shipped to Africa.

Outcomes included behaviour improvement, increased school attendance and greater participation in other activities within school.

"The course was awesome!" - Student

“This has been a great course in building self-esteem with some of the boys who lack confidence and usually portray themselves as brash, loud individuals.” - Inclusion Coordinator
