The Africa Xperience

jole rider's Xperience trips can last from seven days to several months, and have different itineraries and themes.

Xperience seekers and groups are all different in every way, from school students [age 14+] with teachers, through early gappers fresh out of school or college, to late gappers on a career break or secondment.

We also create bespoke Xperience trips for special groups, with unique itineraries tailored to the needs and wishes of the group's members.

jole rider has a resident team on the ground, of Gambians and non-Gambians, including people from the UK.

You will sleep under canvas at a secluded tented site, in the African bush yet a few minutes’ walk from the warm Atlantic where there are more cows than humans on the sandy beaches!  Whilst you will never forget you are in Africa, everything you need for a comfortable stay will be to hand. 

Whichever itinerary you choose, you will have plenty of opportunity to get hands-on with one of jole rider’s own education programmes at, or near, our base camp near the village of Gunjur.   

If you stay for two weeks or longer you will have the option to travel into the interior of The Gambia, sleeping in a tent away from base camp, exploring the countryside, and meeting people ‘up country.’ 

There are opportunities to visit, teach, and be involved with the bikes4Africa programme at, schools across The Gambia.
