Learning Development Project
This is the latest of jole rider’s programmes and, since becoming operational in 2010, has provided another valuable stimulus to learning and teaching, supporting our mission - changing lives through education.
The Learning Development Project [LDP] runs in direct parallel with its sister books4Africa and plays a unique role in learning and teaching.
The programme, based at our Learning Development Centre at Sifoe Senior Secondary School, in western Gambia, has three main functions:
1. The Mustering Station for educational material and books from the UK. The Centre acts as a Learning Resource hub for students and teachers. 2. The promotion of International School Partnerships.
Objectives include the facilitation of year-round curriculum-centred Partner Projects for UK and Gambian schools.
3. A focal point for students, teachers and academics. Creating forums for sharing views, challenges, solutions and new thinking.
If you are a teacher or academic and would like to know more about working at the Centre as part of a teacher secondment opportunity, please contact us.
We will be able to accommodate our first visitors early in 2012.
