Story Book Day

Under the heading of Global Education, and particularly Enterprise, we are delighted to introduce Story Book Day in school.

Story Book Day is a jole rider campaign to collect unwanted storybooks and other valuable reference books, for delivering to schools in Africa.

Many African schools have few or no books and libraries are almost non-existent.  Blackboards are often the only teaching aid and this severely limits learning, literacy and creativity.

We invite your school to become involved in this real-life window on global issues with an education theme and organise a Story Book Day in school.

Handing over the organisation of the Day to students, as an enterprise project, books, fitting our Book Spec criteria, are collected and sorted prior to being transported to our base for shipping.

Our printed bookplates, pasted inside each book, carry a special and personal donor’s message for the book’s next reader.

Please download the ipac for details about hosting a Story Book Day

Story Book Day can be held in any school at any time of year.
The official date for Story Book Day next year is World Book Day, Thurday 04 March 2010
